Sahib tan hai sarvvyapi jangal kahnun janaan eyen;
Satgur bajhon rab nahin milna dhakke kahnun khana eyen. Jaag jag ke bhukkhan kat ke dukh anekan pavenga; Jangal jangal firda rahenga birtha janam ganwawenga. Uchche charh charh baagaan denain evein raula pavein tun; Kahe avtar eh nazrin aaye je gur sharnin aavein toon. |

God is omnipresent, why do you go to the forests?
God cannot be realized without the True Master, why do you wander in wilderness? By keeping awake and observing long fasts, you will face all kinds of sufferings; By wandering in forests you will only waste your life. You go atop the minarets and give loud calls, all this is in vain; Avtar says, God can be seen only if you seek the shelter of the True Master. |
Meaning
Just come to the True Master and you can know God. God is omnipresent, why do you go to the forests? Why do you wander in wilderness? By keeping awake and observing long fasts, you face all kinds of sufferings. You go atop the minarets and give loud calls, all this is in vain. This way you are simply wasting your life. Baba Avtar Singh ji says, God can be seen only if you seek the shelter of the True Master.
